Weather wipes out more prep events this week

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook’s varsity tennis triangular at Ogallala and the Chase County Golf Invitational are two more events lost this week due to inclement weather.

The Bison elected not to attend Thursday’s tennis tri against Ogallala and Holdrege. No official information was obtained, but heavy snow hit plenty of areas in western Nebraska.

The Chase County golf invite was set for Saturday but has been postponed. McCook High reported the meet may be rescheduled on Saturday, May 4, yet has not been officially set.

Also, today’s Medicine Valley Invitational at the McCook High School track and field facility ha been moved to Monday.

Start time will remain at 9:30 a.m. according to available information with several area teams like Cambridge, Southwest, Hitchcock County, Wauneta-Palisade and Maywood-Hayes Center scheduled for compeititon.

Warmer weather and sunny skies are expected this weekend as other events like the Republican River Fitness Series’ “Randy’s Run” remaining on Saturday.
