BENKELMAN, Neb. —Bonnie Jean “Behlke” Todd was born Aug. 27, 1933, to Leonard C. and Ethel F. (Langdale) Behlke in Burchard, Neb. Bonnie grew up and attended school in Benkelman, graduating from Benkelman High School in 1951.

Bonnie was united in marriage to Norman “Duaine” Todd, on Jan. 19, 1951, at the United Methodist Church of Benkelman and to this union two children were born, Galen and Tris. The couple settled in Benkelman where they made their home for many years.

Bonnie was employed in several different locations in Benkelman including the Montgomery-Ward Store, the Circle B Cafe and League Builders. She and Duaine managed the bowling alley and owned and operated Todd’s Cafe for several years.

Bonnie was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Benkelman. She enjoyed crocheting, and working with stained glass. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bonnie passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 24, 2019, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Neb. She was 85 years of age.

Survivors include her son, Galen Todd and wife, Susan of Wauneta, Neb., and daughter, Tris Todd of Goodland, Kan.; grandchildren, Shari (Joel) Harry, Scott (Leslie) Todd, Michael (Diana) Todd, Steven (Shauna) Todd, Sara Bardsley (and Landon Lemburg); great-grandchildren, Nicole, Dana and Carly Hearon, Caroline and Tenley Todd, Payton and Jackson Brady, Taylor Hiett and Taylon Todd, Karsyn, Katie, Brayton and Brody Todd, Halle and Kenzie Bardsley; brother, Bill Behlke and wife, Pat of Palmer, Alaska; sister-in-law, Donna Behlke of Benkelman; brother-in-law, Bernard Flemister of Yuma, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duaine; sisters, Donna DeAragon and Delorise Flemister; and brother, Bob Behlke.

Funeral services will be Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, 11 a.m. (MT) at the Zion Lutheran Church of Benkelman with Pastor Doug Hjelmstad officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman.

A memorial has been suggested to the Community Hospital Home Health and Hospice of McCook, Neb.
