Trojans march through Southern Valley to semis

OXFORD, Neb. — Cambridge’s girls roared through the Southern Valley gymnasium to a 60-34 RPAC tournament triumph Monday night.

The East No. 1-seed Trojans (9-5 record) featured nine players hitting shots with junior Korynn Clason’s 23 points and 10 rebounds leading them again.

Cambridge will take on the No. 3-seed Alama Cardinals at 7:45 p.m. on Thirsday in Bertrand to determine of two RPAC title game spots.

Junior Cali Gunderson and senior Rylee Cross added eight points each for the Trojans Monday evening.

Chloe Craig contributed another six while tough Trojan defense didn’t Southern Valley to score more than six points in any of the first quarters.

The Eagles (6-11 record) were flying high following a strong Saturday win over Arapahoe where senior Grace Hogeland scored 23 points.

They’ll play one of the consolation games at Bertrand on Thursday.

Cambridge blocked four shots and Clason swiped four of 11 steals.

Craig corraled eight rebounds while Cross and Autumn Deterding grabbed five apiece for Cambridge.
