OBERLIN, KS - Up and down … 'round in circles … faster and faster… upside down even.
The carnival rides of Decatur County's home-grown carnival attract hundreds of kids — and adults young-at-heart — to the county fair in Oberlin Wednesday evening. Thunderheads building in the southeast didn't discourage riders of those rides that take you up higher and higher, drop you down fast, and suspend you in mid-air — hang on tight to your cellphone.

The little train chugged calmly around the fairgrounds, its conductor keeping a close eye on Plains Equipment Group's Husqvarna robotic lawnmower.
