Drug, weapons arrests result of year-long NSP, FCSO investigation
BEAVER CITY, Neb. — The Furnas County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol cooperated on two drug and weapons arrests in Beaver City on Tuesday, part of a year-long narcotics investigation by the two agencies.
On Tuesday, at 10:07 a.m., the sheriff’s office and the patrol executed a search warrant at 721 4th Street in Beaver City, and Hannah J. Clark, 32 years old, and Jessie W. Hughes, 36, both of Beaver City, were located within the residence. Also within the residence were three juvenile children.
Clark was arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute, a Class IIA felony; possession of a stolen firearm, a Class IIA felony; no drug tax stamp, a Class IV felony; and receiving stolen property, less than $500, a Class II misdemeanor.
Hughes was arrested on a warrant for possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, a Class II felony; two counts of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to distribute; possession of a stolen firearm; no drug tax stamp; and receiving stolen property, less than $500.
The juvenile children were placed into the custody of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
A search of the residence and outbuilding turned up suspected meth, packaging materials, a digital scale, drug paraphernalia and firearms.
Clark and Hughes were arrested on an additional count of possession of meth with intent to distribute and three counts of child abuse, Class I misdemeanors.
Clark’s bond on the arrest warrant has been set at $200,000/10 percent. Hughes’ bond is $250,000/10 percent. Both are due in the Furnas County Court for arraignment Monday, July 30.
