Community Hospital named one of Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in America
McCook, Neb. — Community Hospital was recently named as one of the Top 20 Critical Access Hospitals in America as determined by The Chartis Center for Rural Health.
The Top 20 CAHs are the highest ranked hospitals, chosen from a larger set of Top 100 CAHs, of which Community Hospital was chosen earlier in the year. Both the Top 20 and Top 100 performing Critical Access Hospitals are identified through iVantage Health Analytics’ Hospital Strength INDEX®, the most comprehensive and objective assessment of U.S. rural and Critical Access Hospital performance based upon market, value-based and financial measures.
The rankings were recently announced by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA). An awards ceremony will be held during NRHA’s Critical Access Hospital Conference in September in Kansas City, Mo.
The Top 20 Critical Access Hospital “winners” are those hospitals who have achieved success in the overall performance based on a composite rating from eight indices of strength: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspectives, cost, charge and financial stability. This group was selected from The Chartis Center for Rural Health’s 2018 Top 100 CAH list, which was released earlier this year.
“What an honor this is to be named to such a small group of excellent organizations,” said Troy Bruntz, Community Hospital President & CEO. “Community Hospital is very proud of our staff and physicians. They all work hard to improve today from what they did yesterday. We have plenty of improvement we still want to achieve but this is evidence to us the effort to this point is working and working well. Our results as a Top 20 hospital mean our community can count on us to deliver the services they need now and in the future,” he added.
