McCook softball women pummel Platte

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – The McCook Community College Lady Indian softball team closed out the regular season Monday with a doubleheader sweep over North Platte Community College, winning 18-6 and 14-2.
The Knights dropped to 4-30 on the season and 3-11 in the NCCAC.
The Lady Indians end their regular season at 29-25 and a terrific 10-2 in the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference.
McCook CC 18, North Platte CC 6: The Lady Indians took a 3-2 lead in the third inning on a two-run home run by Jerusha Miner (Gunnison Valley, Utah).
They broke the game open adding six more in the frame.
A grand slam by Taya Thorpe (Malad, Idaho) and a two-run home run by Miner in the fourth inning increased the Lady Indian advantage to 15-2.
McCook CC 14, North Platte CC 2: The Lady Indians scored six runs in the fifth inning to take an 8-2 lead and added six runs in the seventh highlighted by back-to-back home runs by Emily Charchuk (Victoria, British Columbia) and Alexis Moeaki (Las Vegas, Nevada).
