HASTINGS, Neb. — Syd spelled nothing but trouble for Adams Central Triangular tennis foes on Tuesday.

While McCook senior Syd Thompson went 32-1 in her No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles matches, teammate Syd Thompson lost only one singles game all day to highlight the latest Bison dual sweep.

Senior Haley Potthoff also finished 32-1.

McCook fired rockets past Adams Central Patriots, who only wished they could deflate tennis balls like those New England Patriots years ago.

The Class B reigning state champs were no easier vs. Hastings as both duals finished 9-0 for coach Matt Wiemers’ team.

Seniors Cassiddy Beeby and Thompson have delivered a strong early punch at No. 1 doubles. They took down both foes 8-0 and 8-1 Tuesday.

New varsity players Stewart and Riley Hansen handled No. 2 doubles — not easy shoes to step into considering both Bison duos reached last year’s state finals.
