Freshening up Memorial Auditorium

Monday, January 29, 2018
Michele Weimer, front left on ladder, is among the initial group of recent graduates of the Southwest Nebraska Leadership Institute coordinating a repainting project of the lobby at McCook’s Memorial Auditorium, Saturday morning. Some 22 members of the 2017 class were expected to contribute to the project over a four-day period.

From left, Brad Langdorf, Leah Ruggles and Merrilee Craig finish applying a coat to the ceiling of the auditorium’s main entryway. The new color scheme will be similar to the Municipal Center across the street, with a lighter/whiter ceiling and upper areas complimented by a gray color on lower areas. Several murals painted along the hallway are being preserved.

  • A nice gesture for the good of the community. A facelift for a building that can serve the community well. Good idea!!
