McCOOK, Neb. — Rodney Lynn Berry was born June 1, 1950, to William G. and Irene (Hunter) Berry in Colby, Kan. He passed away Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook at the age of 67.
Rodney grew up in Hill City, Kan., and attended school there. He was a 1971 graduate of Northwest Kansas Area Vocational Technical School (NWKAVTS) in Goodland, Kan., majoring in auto mechanics. He was employed at Automotive Sales and Service, Taylor Buick-Olds, and Pit Stop Automotive as an auto mechanic. He worked in the oil fields as a roustabout with Kruger Construction in Indianola before he had back problems.
He became a baptized and communicant member of Peace Lutheran Church in November of 1979.
Rodney was united in marriage to Karen Buk in Atwood, Kan., on June 8, 1973. They make their home in McCook. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, visiting with his many friends, and going out to eat.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irene Berry; his father- and mother-in-law, George and Irene Buk; maternal and paternal grandparents; uncles, aunts and cousins.
Rod leaves his wife, Karen Berry; brother-in-law, Gary Buk; foster son, Ryan Davis and his family, all of McCook; special friends, Gordon and Bonnie Bond, Pat Fortkamp, Jim and Deb Cacy; and Bob and Georgia Shepherd; and many who will miss him and cherish his memory.
Memorials may be given in his name.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, 2 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, McCook, with Pastor Lonnie Felcher officiating. There will be a private family inurnment at a later time.
