Surprises, sharp shooting sparks Men's Basketball League

Friday, January 5, 2018

McCOOK, Neb. — An eventful final week of YMCA Men’s Basketball League regular-season play featured teams taking both their first wins and first defeats.

With Logan Kircher catching fire for 44 league-high points, Indians enjoyed victory thanks to their 100-84 victory over the Tribe.

Meanwhile, Pioneer Seed still had a chance to reach 5-0 and perhaps still take that No. 1 seed from Community Hospital.

Coaches Club ruined that plan, scoring a 73-70 upset which dropped Pioneer Seed to 4-1.

Community Hospital did clinch an unbeaten regular season by delivering a bad-medicine 102-54 defeat to First Central Bank. Big Ballers 3-Point Extravaganza unleashed the week’s highest team total in a 116-52 blast vs. Ballin Ballers.

Tournament brackets will likely appear next week.
