Eagles, M-HC boys earn first wins of season
SUPERIOR, Neb. — Every boys’ varsity basketball team has a win before Christmas after Southern Valley and Maywood-Hayes Center scored victories Saturday evening.
Freshman Clayton Berry’s sizzling six-for-seven shooting sparked the S.V. Eagles to a tough 49-46 win over Superior.
While youth was served, senior Kade Bose showed older Eagles can also hit shots as he finished six-for-nine with another 12 points.
Senior Chaston Burgeson (nine points) and junior Brant Grove (eight) also delivered big points for Southern Valley.
Overall, the Eagles hit 56 percent of their field goals (22 for 39).
