'Tasting on the Bricks' set for Friday, Saturday
McCOOK, Neb. — The success of “Tasting on the Bricks” last year has led to a repeat performance this year.
Twelve businesses are participating in the “Tasting on the Bricks” on Friday and Saturday. The event features appetizers or beverages from downtown business who chose to participate and a chance to win a gift from each of those stores.
“We had a wonderful response last year, people really seemed to enjoy it,” said Lisa Wilcox of New Life Christian Book Store.
“The idea is to get people in and promote a sense of community and fellowship.”
Shoppers get a punch card that is validated at each of the participating businesses. No purchase is necessary, so window shoppers are encouraged to attend. The punch cards are then left at the last business shoppers visit, with cards completed with all punches later drawn for a special gift from each store.
“And these are nice gifts, not some candle left over from 2007,” Wilcox emphasized.
Participating merchants are: New Life, Sport’s Shoppe, Farrell’s Pharmacy and Hallmark, Rita’s Framing, Mint 217, Brown’s Shoe Fit, McCook Greenhouse, Accent’s Etc., Knowlen and Yates, Painted Ladies, Sew Blessed and Eyelets and More.
