McCOOK, Neb. -- Cambridge picked up where it left off last season with a 49-27 win over McCook Tuesday’s NSAA Hall of Fame Jamboree game played at McCook Senior High.

Coming off a 2017 state tournament appearance, the Lady Trojans built an early double-digit lead that it would only build on as the game went along.

Tuesday’s contest was also Amy Scheil’s first as head coach of the Lady Bison.

Scheil is in her first year as McCook’s head coach, and comes to Southwest Nebraska after spending 13 years as head coach at Ashland-Greenwood.

McCook is coming off a 6-17 season.

The Lady Bison open the 2017-2018 season with a road game at Chase County on Friday, Dec. 1, before hosting Valentine the next day.

Cambridge will look to replicate last year’s 20-4 record, which saw the Lady Trojans qualify for the Class C2 state tournament.

Cambridge lost to Howells-Dodge in the first round 58-41.
