CENTERVILLE, Mass. — Dr. Elizabeth Edwards of Centerville, Mass. passed away peacefully on Oct. 6, 2017.

She was born on Oct. 25, 1929, in Aquascalientes, Ags., Mexico. The family moved to San Luis Potosi where she grew up, studied at medicine school and graduated with honors. She did her internship and residency at Mount Sinai Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio. She then stayed one more year to do residency in anesthesiology. Afterward, she returned to San Luis Potosi where she practiced anesthesiology. In 1965, she married Lee Edwards at San Luis Potosi and they moved to McCook, Neb. After three years, she returned to medicine practice and was in charge of three hospitals in the McCook area as Head of Anesthesiology Department. The family moved to Hyannis and then Centerville, Mass., upon their retirement. Betty was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in McCook and South Congregational Church in Centerville.

She is predeceased by her parents and her husband, Lee.

She is survived by her fondly loved son, David Lee; sisters, Martha and husband, Ferdinand Sosapavon of Mexico City, and Mimi and Mita Delgado of San Luis Potosi; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial is being held on Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at South Congregational Church. Her cremains will be buried at Grove Cemetery south of Culbertson, Neb., at the convenience of the family.
