Isaac Doyle and Derick Spencer, both 9-year-old St. Patrick School third graders, constructed a truck, complete with dual stacks and 331⁄3 rpm wheels, as part of the Great Cardboard Challenge Saturday at Memorial Auditorium in McCook. Sky-scrapers, castles, forts and ships were among the cardboard creations of about 75 kids, with help from teams of friends and parents. The event is one of the first sponsored by the “Thinkery of Southwest Nebraska,” described as “children’s museum without walls. For more information, email thinkeryofswne@gmail.com.
