Plenty of reasons to be Optimist-ic on Sunday

Look at all the young football athletes and volunteers who filled Weiland Field while making Sunday’s annual McCook Optimist Club Punt, Pass & Kick competition a success once again. Champions qualify for district the contest at Lincoln next month.

McCOOK, Neb. — Beautiful warm NFL opening day sunny weather greeted all who competed in Sunday’s McCook Optimist Club Punt, Pass & Kick at Weiland Field.

The contest was open to youths from age six through 15.

Champions qualify for the district PP&K competition in Lincoln on Oct. 8.
