Pantry plans food drive during Heritage Days
McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Pantry plans its second annual “Heritage Days Donations Days,” “relocating” to Norris Park for a two-day food collection event during McCook’s annual Heritage Days Celebration.
The Pantry booth will be open in the park Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m until 6 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 24, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., accepting non-perishable foods for the Pantry shelves and monetary donations for the Pantry treasury.
Pantry president Dorothy Henton said that anyone who misses “Donation Days” can bring their food donations to the Pantry, inside the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church Canterbury House in the 500 block of West First. The Pantry is located between the church on the north and the McCook Gazette on the south. Use the alley parking lot for the greatest convenience and the Canterbury House’s north door sidewalk ramp and vestibule.
Food may be donated during regular Pantry hours, Monday through Friday, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. To arrange different hours for a donation, contact Dorothy at (308) 345-4447.
Monetary donations can be mailed to 509 W. First.
