McCOOK, Neb. -- If Monday’s game between McCook and North Platte junior varsity teams was any indication, the future is bright for the Bison.

Seth Dugger accounted for three touchdowns, including two long passes to James Mockry, to lead McCook past North Platte 35-0 Monday at Weiland Field.

The Bison set the tone early with three scores in the first quarter. Dugger opened the game with a three-yard scamper to put the Bison up 7-0.

The McCook defense would come out strong, as Dawson Bredvick and the rest of the Bison bruisers forced a North Platte safety. Dugger flashed his arm on the ensuing drive, as he found Mockry for a 56-yard strike to make it 16-0 before the opening period was finished.

North Platte, again, struggled with its back to the wall, as Conner Kleckner and the Bison defense forced another safety in the second quarter.

Dugger found Mockry again, this time from 36 yards out, to add another big-play score to the night. Trae Koetter added a 32-yard field goal just before intermission.

The second half saw McCook keep a firm grip on its lead. Corban Jernigan capped the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown run.

The McCook j.v. team will be back in action Monday, Sept. 11 when it travels to Lexington.
