Good Living Tour, Prairie Roots Frestival Saturday
OMAHA, Neb. — Hear Nebraska (HN) and McCook’s Prairie Roots Festival have joined forces to bring the Good Living Tour back to Barnett Park on Saturday, July 29. For a second straight year, HN has booked a diverse group of artists from around the state to perform a free, all-ages concert starting at 5 p.m., with activities beginning at 1 p.m. The lineup includes Omaha psych-pop band JAGAJA, Omaha soul outfit High Up, local vocal trio Major Minor Three, Omaha rapper J. Crum and Scottsbluff-native ambient group All We Seem.
The Good Living Tour — presented by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development — is in its third year, hosting concerts in eight communities across Greater Nebraska all summer long. It’s also an accompanying community storytelling/marketing project aimed to communicate the benefits of living in Greater Nebraska to a young audience — statewide and around the world — through social and traditional media.
A total of 29 Nebraska bands is performing family-friendly sets over the eight-stop tour, which spans June-Aug. Each concert, carefully curated by Hear Nebraska, features contemporary groups, representing a diverse mix of musical genres and styles — from indie rock to hip hop to country to blues.
The concert is FREE, family friendly and all ages are encouraged to attend. The show takes place at Barnett Park. Activities begin at 1 p.m. and include a volleyball tournament, disc golf, human foosball, food and beer garden. Music starts at 5 p.m. Find the Facebook event and volleyball tournament signup info here: http://bit.ly/2utLzZR
