Sargent anniversary
60th anniversary
The family of Larry and Betty Sargent of Benkelman, Neb., is requesting a card shower in honor of the couple’s 60th wedding anniversary on Friday, July 21, 2017. They were married in Oberlin, Kan., in 1957. They owned/operated Larry’s Grocery in Selden Kan., and Larry worked with Old Home Bread Company in McCook, Neb. They also co-owned/operated Jack & Jill Grocery in Imperial Neb., and worked at the Jack & Jill in Benkelman. Betty worked with the USPS in McCook, Stratton, Parks and Haigler, Neb., before retiring. Larry worked with the Nebraska Department of Roads until his retirement. Both are graduates of Oberlin High School. Their family includes children, Jan M. Sargent of Stella, Mo., and Gene Sargent of Benkelman; four grandchildren and two great-grandhchildren, with another on the way.
