Eula Marie (Holtze) Brown

BEAVER CITY, Neb. — Eula Marie (Holtze) Brown, 89, of Beaver City, died Thursday (July 6, 2017), at the Beaver City Manor in Beaver City.

She was born on the family farm on Dec. 31, 1927, to Jens ‘Jim’ Rasmussen and Pearl Geneva (Parks) Holtze.

She graduated from Wilsonville High School in 1945 and she was a teacher at Middle Rockton School. She married Darrel Lee Brown on May 23, 1948, in Wilsonville.

She was a member of the Beaver City Women’s Club; UMW; church choir; and was a Sunday School teacher and a Brownie Troop Leader. She was a founding member of the Furnas County Genealogical Society and a charter member of the Nebraska State Genealogical Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darrel Brown; brother, James Holtze and wife, Velma (Nicholson) of Wilsonville; sister, Margaret and husband, F. Dean Brown of Wilsonville;brother-in-law, C. Roland Brown and wife, LaVonne of Mapleton, Iowa; nephews, Tommy Brown and Rodger Holtze; and niece, Margene Holtze.

Survivors include her children, David and Nancy (Frey) Brown of Beaver City, Randall and Mary (Thomsen) Brown of Beaver City, Brenda (Brown) and Larry Lambert of Grand Island, Neb., Robert and Connie (Tegtmeier) Brown and Rebecca Brown of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Viewing and visitation is Sunday, July 9, 2017, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home of Beaver City.

Funeral services are Monday, July 10, 2017, 10 a.m., at Faith Community Church in Beaver City with the Rev. Daryl Kats officiating. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City with luncheon to follow at the church.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Furnas County Genealogical Society and the Beaver City Manor.
