Kansas starting state meet today

WICHITA, Kan. — Girls from both Decatur Community and Rawlins County, Kan., have qualified for the Kansas State Track and Field meet starting today at Cessna Stadium.

Junior Brittney Wesley will represent the D.C. Red Devils in three events: 100-meter dash, 200 meters and long jump.

Rawlins County features four qualifiers in one event each.

Kristen Beckman will throw the javelin while Brea Lankas and Libby Mosley will both triple jump.

The Buffaloes’ one track qualifier is Amy Crouse, who will run 100-meter high hurdles.

No boy from either school qualified for 2A state competition.

The Kansas State Track and Field Meet continues through Saturday. Some of those best area marks entering today:
