Grasshoppers grab first win, Muckdogs dominate

Felling Field – The Roberts Farms Grasshoppers grabbed an early lead on its way to an 11-6 victory over The High Plains Podiatry Clippers on Tuesday.

Gabe Roberts was the ringleader of the first inning rally by slamming an rbi single in the middle of the scoring spree.

In all, the Roberts Farms Grasshoppers collected four hits and the High Plains Podiatry Clippers had five in the high-scoring affair.

The High Plains Podiatry Clippers scored three runs in the fourth inning around singles Zach Hinze and Jaydn Fox.

Reid Loop earned the win for the Roberts Farms Grasshoppers. He pitched one inning, allowing one run, one hit, and striking out three.

Three relievers helped the Roberts Farms Grasshoppers close out the victory.

The Roberts Farms Grasshoppers tore up the base paths as three players stole at least two bases.

Evan Merrihew led the way with four.

Fox led the High Plains Podiatry Clippers with two hits in three at bats.

Isaak Messinger led the Clippers with two stolen bases as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.

Definitely a dog day

The McCook National Bank Rivercats couldn’t keep up with the Tigers Muckdogs and fell 13-0 on Tuesday.

The Tigers Muckdogs scored seven runs in the fourth inning. The Muckdogs rally was driven by a two-RBI double by Reese Gillespie and Tate Schafer’s RBI-single.

Kmoch earned the win for the Tigers Muckdogs. He went two innings, surrendering zero runs, zero hits, striking out six, and walking one.

Two relievers helped the Muckdogs close out the victory. Ethan Schmidt and Benjamin Fries threw one inningapiece.

Jalen Collicott started the game for the McCook National Bank Rivercats. He tossed one inning, allowing zero runs, two hits, striking out twoand walking one.

Kycen Bradley and Jack Baker each collected one hit to lead Rivercats.

The Cats stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Baker led the way with two.

The Tigers Muckdogs had seven hits in the game. Gillespie and Kmoch each collected multiple hits for the Muckdogs.

The Muckdogs join Roberts Farms Grasshoppers as Minors Division teams starting 1-0.
