Special cancellation event set for Saturday

McCOOK, Neb. — To celebrate McCook’s 135th Birthday, The McCook Post Office will host a special pictorial cancellation event Saturday from 10 a.m to 1 p.m.

The public is invited to come out to the Post Office at 411 West 3rd and get anything with a stamp on it cancelled.

Envelopes and postcards and stamps also will be available for purchase.

Officials will also have a table at the Founder’s Ball that evening from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. to offer the special cancellation then as well.

The stamp has a picture of a bison and a train with McCook 135 years predominately displayed. Those who can’t make the special event, can still bring or mail in to the post office special requests for the cancellation for the next 30 days.
