Paul Edward Klinkebiel

CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — Paul Edward Klinkebiel, age 85, of Cambridge passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 13, 2017. 

He was born in Cambridge on Dec. 26, 1931, to Diedrich and Alvena (Schroeder) Klinkebiel.  Paul attended country school northwest of Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1949.

On Nov. 17, 1957, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Jackson in Cambridge at the EUB Church.  

Paul farmed north of Cambridge and south of Holbrook. He was a member of the EUB Church, later transferring his membership to the Calvary Baptist Church where he held several offices. He was a member of the Holbrook Lions Club, Cambridge Co-op board and the Cambridge School board. 

Paul enjoyed collecting old tractors, antique cars and restoring an old wood windmill. He enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards and socializing after local football games. He enjoyed traveling on the Jerry Peterson Bus trips, the Co-op trip to Hawaii and a trip with family to Alaska. Paul loved spending time with his famiy and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jeffrey Klinkebiel in 1986 and Lonny Klinkebiel in 2003; brother, Charles Klinkebiel; and a sister, Fern Nickerson.

Paul is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Sherri and husband, Brad Edgerton, son, Kyle and wife, Kyleen Klinkebiel, all of Cambridge; daughter-in-law, Roxie Klinkebiel of Indianola; eight grandchildren, Drew (Jabrel) Klinkebiel, Cole (Chelsea) Klinkebiel, Julia (Grayson) Chapman; Alisa (Clint) Ryan, Amy (Trevor) Lee, Amanda (Josh) Reinhardt; Hadley and Amos Klinkebiel; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ruth Hays of Fresno, Calif.

Funeral services are planned for Saturday, March 18, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church of Cambridge with Pastor Nathan Witt officiating.  Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery of Cambridge.  Visitation is Friday, March 17, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenourjones.com.  Memorials may be left to the Cambridge EMS at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary, Cambridge.
