Bison win going into East-West finale

McCOOK, Neb. -- McCook High's basketball boys surprised Gering, 62-58, to even their record in the East-West Shootout entering today's finale.

Junior Hunter Potthoff scored 18 points and senior Kyle Geisler added 14 as the 8-11 Bison knocked off those 12-9 Bulldogs. Gering also lost Thursday's Shootout opening game at Lexington.

McCook will try to finish with the Alliance Bulldogs visiting MHS today for a 12:30 p.m. contest.

McCook girls lost 48-39 at Gering where those Bulldogs have won six straight. The Bison (6-14 overall) will try to salvage an East-West Shootout win at Alliance today.
