New outdoor sports store opens

McCOOK, Neb. -- A new outdoor products store -- featuring hunting products and engraving services -- is now open and serving customers from store space at 213 West C Street in McCook.

The business, Precision Outdoor Products LLC, is owned and operated by Curtis Smith.

"We will feature all kinds of hunting products," Smith said. This will include firearms, ammo, hunting knives, Vortek optics, bows and arrows and all kinds of hunting accessories.

Smith, a resident of McCook since 2009, has been in the outdoor products business for several years, representing large national companies like Browning and Winchester.

Early this year he started doing engraving work and the success of that business inspired him to open the outdoor products store.

The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.

Smith, originally from Brighton, Colo., met his wife, the former Jennifer Unger of Hayes Center, while attending the University of Nebraska-Kearney. They have three children: Garrett, Mackenzie and Elijay.
