BERTRAND, Neb. -- DuReece Gehring, 91, of Bertrand, (formerly of Indianola, Neb.), died Friday (Dec. 16, 2016), at the Bertrand Nursing Home.

She was born Nov. 19, 1925, in Harlan County, Neb., to Arnold and Nina (Simmons) Davis. She graduated from Alma Public Schools in 1943.

She married William Carl "Bill" Gehring and they made their home in Hastings for most of their working years. They moved to their farm north of Indianola upon retirement. In 2007, she moved to the Bertrand Nursing Home.

She was prceded in death by her husband, Bill Gehring; parents, Arnold and Nina (Simmons) Davis; brothers, Arnold Davis, Jr., Darrell Davis and wife, Mary and Jack Davis and wife, Florence.

Survivors include her son, David Gehring of Rapid City, S.D.; sister-in-law, Bonnie Davis of Stillwater, Minn.; and many other family members.

There is no visitation, crematwill be at a later date at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, south of Maxwell, Neb.
