MAYWOOD, Neb. -- Esther L. (Walker) Sellers, age 91, of Maywood, passed away Aug. 18, 2016, at Great Plains Health.

She was born Nov. 11, 1924, at Thornberg, Neb., to Raymond and Mae (Ruppert) Walker. Esther lived most of her life in the Wellfleet and Maywood area. She was united in marriage to Lawrence "Mutt" Sellers on May 18, 1946. To this union five children were born.

She worked as a cook at Maywood Public School for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawerence; sister, Veda (Loren) Baxter; nephew, Duane Owens; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Lois (Loren) Hall, Vernon (Shirley) Sellers, Ercil (Vera) Sellers, Harrison (Marion) Sellers, Donna Coykendall and Stanley Sellers; son-in-law, James Kummer; daughter-in-law, Stacy Sellers; and granddaughter, Stacy Sellers.

Survivors include her sons, Wayne (Colleen) Sellers of Curtis, Lynn (Cindy) Sellers of O'Neill, Neb., Paul Sellers of McCook and Bruce Sellers of Fort Collins, Colo.; daughter, Sharon Kummer of McCook; sister, Ardell Wilkie; brother and sister-in-law, Orval Coykendall and Devona Sellers; many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, Neb. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, which is in charge of arrangements.
