Cosmetic, wound care, reconstructive surgeon to begin seeing patients at Community Hospital

McCook, Neb. -- A cosmetic, reconstructive and wound surgeon will begin an outreach clinic at Community Hospital's Medical Specialists Center in July.

Shaw Tang, DO FACOS, who is associated with Midwest Cosmetic & Wound Surgery in Hastings, Nebraska, will begin seeing patients in McCook on Tuesday, July 19. He will see patients the third Tuesday of every month. Dr. Tang is excited to serve patients in southwest Nebraska. He specializes in soft tissue cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, including wound medicine and surgery.

Dr. Tang received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed an osteopathic surgical internship and a general surgery residency at Michigan State University in Trenton, Michigan; and a cosmetic surgery fellowship at the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Body Sculpting Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, in conjunction with Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

He is board certified with the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, General Surgery; American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, General Cosmetic Surgery; American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery; and American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Tang is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons and American College of Clinical Wound Specialists. He is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Association and American Medical Association.

He and his wife, Sarah, have two children, Ming Wei and Min. They live in Hastings.
