Hospital conducting community needs assessment

Thursday, June 9, 2016

McCOOK, Neb. -- Community Hospital is conducting a community needs assessment to assist with a planning process in the hospital's service area to determine current status of community health needs and goal setting for future improvement. Opinions are being gathered from targeted groups, as well as the general public, to assist in this process.

"Providing the best care and services to our area is our top priority as a community hospital," said Sarah Wolford, Community Hospital's Community Outreach Coordinator. "Our ultimate goal is to find and meet the needs of our community members, especially those who need us the most. We have so many wonderful resources we can utilize to reach out to our community, and we want to be sure that our programs are reaching the right people and fulfilling our responsibility as their hospital," she said. She added that the McCook area has an array of health care programs and providers. Regular assessment of community needs and assets and prioritization of any needs or problems is important in assuring that these resources are meeting the community's needs.

Community members are invited to express their ideas by participating in online surveys. This survey is open to anyone who has information they would like to share regarding local health education, services, access or availability. The data gathered will be used in planning future programs and services of Community Hospital and other local health care providers.

Surveys may be found on Community Hospital's website, chmccook.org, under 2016 Community Health Needs Assessment. Participation in the survey will be available until Friday, June 24. For more information please contact Wolford at (308) 344-8550 or by email skwolford@chmccook.org.
