McCOOK, Neb. -- Red Willow County election officials are anticipating low voter turnout today.

The clerk's office said this morning many people they heard from feel the presidential election has already been decided, at least as far as the Primary Election goes.

Tuesday's ballot includes few other contested races and only county residents living within McCook city limits will be asked whether or not to renew an amended version of the McCook Economic Development Program.

A survey of Red Willow County polling booths at just prior to 11:30 this morning indicated voter turnout was at an overall average of 7 percent when comparing votes cast to registered voters.

Polling place turnout ranged from 4 to 13 percent by location and Red Willow County Clerk Tami Teel said those results were lower than similar late-morning surveys conducted in years prior.
