PAOLA, Kan. -- Mildred M. Welter, 92, formerly of Dresden, Kansas, died Friday (Feb. 19, 2016) at Paola.

She was born Oct. 2, 1923, in Dresden to Michael and Theresa (Zodrow) Karls. She graduated from Dresden High School in 1941.

She married Paul Welter on Feb. 15, 1946, in Leoville, Kansas. She taught school and piano lessons.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Altar Society, Dresden Guild and American Legion Auxiliary

She was preceded in death by parents, Michael and Theresa (Zodrow) Karls; daughter, Lorraine; husband, Paul; and brother, Cecil.

Survivors include children, Michael (Judy) Welter of Paola, Joseph (Sherry) Welter of Perry and Barbara (Ric) Ranf of Helena, Montana; sisters, Eleanor of Kansas City and Mary of Goodland; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services are Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016, 11:30 a.m. at Mount Calbery Cemetery in Leoville with the Rev. Mark Berland officiating. Interment is at Mount Calvery Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday, Feb 25, 2016, from 8 to 11 a.m. with a rosary service following, at the Immacute Conception Parish Center in Leoville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Mount Calvery Cemetery Fund.
