Special pages spotlight holiday events
McCOOK, Neb. -- As the holiday season unfolds in the Golden Plains of America, the business and professional people of McCook and the surrounding region are joining to display their wares and herald the festive happenings taking place throughout the season of Christmas celebrating.
Two special pages in today's McCook Gazette spotlight some of the events taking place.
On page 13, 10 of McCook's leading businesses show their support for the community's retail establishments as sponsors of a full page, full color presentation announcing that "Santa Claus Is Coming!" The grand arrival will be Saturday, December 5, when Chief Pilot Griff Malleck brings Santa directly from the North Pole to the McCook Ben Nelson Airport. Santa's E.T.A. (Expected Time of Arrival) is 10 o'clock a.m. (CST).
More holiday happiness is proclaimed on Page 18, where Page Designer Nate James presents Holiday Decorating Highlights. The page features stories about McCook's first "Festival of Wreathes" and Minden's 100th Christmas light celebration.
