CARROLL, Neb. -- Kenneth Edmund Gansebom, age 87, passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015, at his home in Carroll.
He was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Osmond, Nebraska, to August and Emma (Dralle) Gansebom. He graduated from Osmond High School and received his masters in music education from Wayne State Teachers College. He served in the United States Army, during the Korean War, from 1950-1952. Kenneth was united in marriage to Susan Andersen Aug. 2, 1953. He had the privilege of teaching in many communities, some of which included Randolph, McCook, Howells, Lincoln South East, Christ Lutheran in Norfolk, and South Sioux City. Kenneth retired in Carroll after teaching music for 50 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wayne and Carroll American Legion.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Susan, of Carroll; their children, Sarah (Dale) Brown of Bellevue, Anthony (Shari) Gansebom of Fort Calhoun, Mark (Laurie) Gansebom of Wayne, and Suzanne (Dean) Burbach of Carroll; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Delmer Gansebom of Osmond; nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Scott Gansebom.
Memorial service with Military rites will be Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Wayne, Nebraska.
Visitation is Friday, Oct. 9, 2015, at Hasemann Funeral Home in Wayne with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Interment will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery in Wayne.
