New faculty/staff at McCook Community College

McCOOK, Neb. -- Among the new full-time faculty, administration, and coaches at McCook Community College this semester are:

Erinn Brauer

Erinn is the new Area Director of Financial Aid for Mid-Plains Community College with her office in McMillen Hall.

Doug Clouatre

She comes to MPCC from Westwood College in Westminster, Colorado, where she was a Student Finance Specialist III. She had been with Westwood for four years. Prior to that she was a store manager for New York & Company in Omaha.

She received her B.A with double majors in business administration and apparel & design from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and a MBA with a specialization in marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Joy Molcyk

Doug is a 1998 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Ph.D in Political Science. He is teaching history and American government this semester at MCC.

He has published two books, "Presidents and their Justices" in 2010 and "Presidential Upsets" in 2013. In May of last year he read an excerpt of "Presidential Upsets" on NPR's "Authors' Corner."

He is currently finishing up a history of Lincoln County, Nebraska (North Platte).

Renelle Mooney

He has traveled extensively, visiting 82 different countries. His goal is to reach 100 countries before he is 50.

Renelle Mooney

Mooney grew up in Wauneta and spent the past eight years at Ruppenthal Middle School in Russell, Kansas, teaching business and computer classes, coaching volleyball and basketball. Four years prior to that, she taught business classes at Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kansas.

Jasmine Pritchett

She received her B.S. degree in business education from Fort Hays State University and her M.S. degree in business education from Emporia State University.

She and her husband Barry, have three children: daughter Rylee, a sophomore; son Blayzon, a fifth grader; and one-year-old son, Ryker.

Joy Molcyk

Takes over as EMS program director having worked as adjunct faculty at MCC since 2005, teaching CPR, EMT, and paramedic courses

She is a nationally registered paramedic, state licensed EMS instructor, completed her critical care paramedic course in 2009 and completed her paramedic education through MCC. She has a B.S. in comprehensive biology from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. She is also a licensed alcohol and drug counselor.

Prior to accepting the position as EMS/Paramedic program director, she worked full-time as a paramedic for Good Samaritan Hospital.

She and husband Bob have three sons: Austin, 21; Colton, 18; and Brandon, 17.

Jasmine Pritchett

Jasmine Pritchett will serve as interim volleyball coach for the 2015-16 school year.

She comes to MCC with experience both as an MCC player and former assistant coach. She played volleyball for the Lady Indians in 2009 and 2010 seasons before earning a scholarship to an NAIA school in North Carolina. After Graduating from MCC, Pritchett accepted a job in the Admissions Department of Community Hospital.

Coach Pritchett takes over a team that went 11-24 last season.

Sept. 16, 7 p.m. -- MCC Volleyball team hosts CCC Columbus.

Sept. 22, 7 p.m. -- MCC Volleyball team hosts Laramie County CC.

Sept. 23, 7 p.m. -- MCC Volleyball team hosts Western Nebraska.

Sept. 25, 9-11 p.m. -- 5th Quarter following Bison home football game, sponsored by the McCook Chamber of Commerce.

Sept. 30, 5 p.m. -- MCC Volleyball team hosts Southeast CC.

ORGANIZATION, BUSINESS FAIR

MCC'S Organization, Business and Employment Fair is set for Tuesday from 10 a.m. -- 2 p.m. in the main campus courtyard. The fair features college organizations, local businesses and employers, music and lunch.

John Weaver exhibit at MCC through September

The works of one of Nebraska's best-known artists is on display through the end of September at Wrightstone Gallery on the McCook Community College campus.

On loan from the Museum of Nebraska Art is an exhibit featuring the works of John Weaver. The works on display in McCook include a number of pieces inspired by his love of the railroad and of boyhood toys. Weaver received his MFA from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1968.
