Probation revoked; Holbrook woman to prison
McCOOK, Neb. -- A Holbrook woman received jail time earlier this week in Red Willow County District Court after admitting guilt to a string of probation violations.
The offender, 21-year-old Alexis L. Kruger, was originally sentenced to 24 months probation in August of 2013 on a Class I misdemeanor offense for attempted possession of methamphetamine. In June she admitted to probation violations stemming from Furnas County citations in February of 2014 on two counts of unauthorized use of a financial transaction device; citations for leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving in June of 2014; a Hitchcock County arrest in June of 2014 on charges of failing to signal a turn, possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and marijuana; and failing to report to her probation officer.
Kruger's Red Willow County probation was subsequently revoked Monday and she was sentenced to 75 days in jail and ordered to pay a $100 fine, with credit given for 44 days already served.
Other activity in Red Willow County District Court, Aug. 3, 2015:
* A plea agreement was reached with 41-year-old Jeff E. Sprenkle of 1413 West 14th Street admitting guilt to a pair of Class IV felony offenses for possession of methamphetamine and tampering with physical evidence. Sprenkle was originally facing habitual criminal enhancements on both charges which increased the severity to Class 3A felonies.
The enhancements stem from Sprenkle's Class 2 felony conviction for first degree sexual assault in May of 1996, and subsequent 4-6 year prison sentence, as well as a Class 3A felony conviction for criminal attempt to manufacture a controlled substance and subsequent 36-60 month prison sentence.
Sprenkle also pleaded no contest Monday to a Class IV felony sex offender registration violation stemming from failing to report an address change. He was scheduled for sentencing in both cases at 10 a.m. on Oct. 5, 2015, in Red Willow County District Court.
* A plea agreement was reached with 26-year-old Cherri M. Kershaw of Cambridge, Nebraska, admitting guilt to a Class I misdemeanor offense for attempted possession of Alprazolam and infractions for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Kershaw was originally facing a Class IV felony alleging possession of a controlled substance and a Class 2 misdemeanor for not having insurance. Red Willow County Attorney Paul Wood indicated in court documents the no insurance violation was dismissed after proof was shown.
Kershaw was subsequently scheduled for sentencing at 9:45 a.m. on Oct. 5, 2015.
* 21-year-old Alexandria Curran of Lincoln, Nebraska, pleaded not guilty to a Class IV felony offense alleging possession of methamphetamine. Curran was subsequently scheduled for a status hearing at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 14, 2015.
