Bruce Baker/McCook Gazette

A crowd of more than 50 people gathered Friday morning at the recently built Alice Kiplinger Building on the Red Willow County Fairgrounds in McCook to thank Tom Kiplinger, middle, and the Red Willow County Fair Board members for their efforts resulting in the new building. Duane Tappe, left, and Charlie Collins, right, were among those in attendance. Collins is the superintendent for the fairgrounds and responsible for setup and groundskeeping of the increasingly popular rodeo buildings. He also received praise and gratitude from those in attendance for the reputation the fairgrounds have earned nationally as a destination venue.

  • The Kiplinger additions most likely are the greatest attraction in Red Willow County, bringing in the most people to our area. Thanks Tom!
