Felon receives probation on attempted weapons charge
McCOOK, Neb. -- A convicted felon arrested while hunting geese south of McCook in December was sentenced to probation on a felony weapons charge last week in Red Willow County District Court.
The offender, 32-year-old Tyler Craig Graham of 38503 Road 714, was sentenced to 12 months probation on a Class IV felony for attempted possession of a deadly weapon by a felon. Graham was originally facing a Class 3 felony alleging possession of a deadly weapon by a felon and accepted a plea agreement in May admitting guilt to the reduced charge.
According to court documents, Graham was arrested after three individuals were seen hunting in a field north of his residence. The individuals were contacted by Red Willow County Sheriff's officers and Graham was in possession of a 12 gauge shotgun at the time, prompting his arrest.
