William R. 'Bill' Brown

May 30, 1923 - June 30, 2015

TRENTON, Neb. -- William R. "Bill" Brown age 92, of Trenton, passed away at his home on June 30, 2015. He was born south of Trenton on the family farm on May 30, 1923, to Leroy and Bertha (Gose) Brown. Bill graduated from Trenton High School in 1940.

Bill served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946 and discharged as a staff sergeant. On Aug. 10, 1949, at Culbertson, he was united in marriage to Virginia Lou "Peggy" Ellis. Bill and Peggy worked the family farm south of Trenton until he retired in the late 1990s. He served on the Trenton School Board for several years, and on Election Counting boards in Hitchcock county.

Bill is preceded in death by his son, David; his parents; seven sisters, Margaret, Mary, Esther, Rachel, Nora, Ellen and Jennie; and five brothers, Hamer, Marion, James, George and Kenneth.

Bill is survived by his wife, Peggy of Trenton; three sons, John and wife, Deborah of Montrose, Colorado, Mark and wife, Jill of Trenton and Rick and wife, Carol of Hayes Center, Nebraska; sister, Edith Burd of Arvada, Colorado; six grandchildren, Jerrid Aimone, Clive and Cale Brown, Heather Hole and husband, Scott, Erin Brown, Brett Brown and wife, Kelsy, and four great- grandchildren, Loryn and Kylie Hole and Kaden and Allie Brown.

Graveside services will be Friday, July 3, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the Culbertson Cemetery in Culbertson with Rev. David Davidson officiating. Military honors will be graveside.

Visitation will be at Trenton at the Herrmann-Jones Funeral Home on Thursday, July 2, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Memorials may be left in Bill's name to the Community Hospital Hospice in lieu of flowers. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com
