County Court

Tahnee J. Sanders, 30, Lebanon, Nebraska -- DUI (.19) (Jan. 23, 2015, citation at 9:35 p.m. on U.S. Highway 83), dismissed by Red Willow County Attorney Paul Wood on June 16, 2015. Fictitious plates, not pursued; driving on shoulder, not pursued; no registration, not pursued. Sanders failed to appear for a Feb. 24, 2015, hearing; the case was subsequently continued on a motion from the defendant during a May 26, 2015, hearing and continued again on another motion from the defendant on June 6, 2015, stemming from claims the defendant's attorney was unavailable that day. County Attorney Paul Wood subsequently dismissed the DUI charge on June 16.

David R. Wise, 47, Bartley, Nebraska -- abandon/cruelly neglect an animal (black and tan Rottweiler, Dec. 28, 2014, offense), Class I misdemeanor, $100 fine; abandon/cruelly neglect an animal (white bulldog), Class I misdemeanor, $100 fine; abandon/cruelly neglect an animal (black and tan Rottweiler mix), Class I misdemeanor, found not guilty. Red Willow County Court Judge Anne Paine ordered the dogs in count 1 and 2 be adopted out by the McCook Humane Society and the dog in count 3, a black and tan Rottweiler mix, be returned to the defendant.
