FRANKLIN, Neb. -- Evelyn L. Minnick, 93, died Thursday (April 30, 2015), at the Golden Living Center in Franklin, Nebraska.

She was born Aug. 8, 1921, the daughter of Cora (Barnes) and William Winz,in Huntley, Nebraska.

She graduated from Alma High School in 1939. She received her certificate in normal training in 1940 and had taught rural schools in Harlan and Franklin county, Nebraska and Smith county, Kansas. She married Ralph Dwight Minnick on April 18, 1943, in Republican City. They farmed in the Riverton areand later moved to a farm in the Inavale community. They later returned to Riverton.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Ralph; granddaughter, Tanya; sister, Ruth Eldhardt and three brothers, Calvin, William "Bill" and Mike Winz.

Survivors included children, Richard and Joyce Minnick of Indianola, Nebraska and Boyd and Jan Minnick of Franklin, Nebraska; brothers, Ross Winz of Holdrege, Nebraska, and Ray Winz and wife, Nadine of Ragan, Nebraska; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Tuesday, May 5, 2015, 2 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home in Red Cloud, Nebraska, with interment at the Riverton Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established by the family.
