SEWARD, Neb. -- Timothy Jean Austin, 67, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, in Staplehurst, Nebraska.

Tim was born on Jan. 5, 1948, to Mary (Young) and Wilbur Austin in Omaha, Nebraska. Tim graduated from Kearney High School, Kearney, Nebraska in 1966. He then attended Kearney State College (now known as UNK) and graduated with a Masters of Social Science in 1972.

On Nov. 28, 1968, Tim was united in marriage to Yvonne McBride in McCook, Nebraska. Tim worked for the Nebraska State Patrol-Capital Security Division as a Communications Specialist until his retirement in 2008.

In his free time he enjoyed history (especially World War II history), military figures and dioramas. Tim was interested in world politics, coin collecting and loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was an Admiral of the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Austin, Staplehurst; daughters, Diana Wulf of Staplehurst, Debra Austin of Alexandria, Virginia, Kari Austin, Staplehurst, son, William (Amanda) Austin-Mafilika of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren, Kevin Austin, Cody Cudmore, Cloe Austin, Liam Austin-Mafilika, Nolan Austin-Mafilika; brother and sister-in-law, Tom (Ginger) Austin of Blair, Nebraska; brother, Chris McCay of California; sisters, Sandra (Rick) Fields of Bennington, Nebraska and Susan Austin of Hastings, Nebraska.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur Austin and Mary Ferguson.
