Icela Elizabeth "Liz" (Hall) Sidell

SCOTTSBLUff, Neb. -- Liz Sidell passed away on April 1, 2015 at 83 years old in Scottsbluff. She resided in Kimball, Nebraska, before her death.

Liz was born on Jan. 2, 1932, in Trenton, Nebraska, to Charles Delbert Hall and Clara Ruth Brown Hall. Liz attended school in District No. 41 for eight years (also known as "Hall" school) and graduated from Trenton High School in 1949, where she played trombone in the school band and belonged to the Library Club.

Liz married Jerald F. Sidell on March 3, 1951, at Imperial, Nebraska. They had three sons, Charles, Albert, and Michael. She enjoyed doing counted cross stitch and loved traveling. She lived in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia and Nebraska. Liz worked as a waitress, owned and operated her own café and did factory production in various industries throughout most of her adult life. After retiring, she collected cookbooks and was always trying new recipes.

Liz is survived by her sons, Charles Sidell (Susan Sharp) of Ormond Beach, Florida, Albert Sidell (Linda Erat) of Waterford, California, and Michael Sidell of Kimball. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters: Ruby Dake of Arizona; Lyman Hall of Nebraska; Ada Donald of Mississippi; Twyla McClung of Nebraska; Ramona (Norman) of Morgan, California, Barbara Bender of Nebraska; John Hall of Nebraska, Robert (Charlotte) Hall of Nebraska, Richard (Lucille) Hall, of Mississippi, Wenda Hall of California and Sondra Wakeman of Colorado. Liz is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Liz was preceded in death by her former husband (Jerald), both parents (Charles and Ruth Hall), three brothers (Mac, James and Delbert), a sister (Queta McIntire), and one granddaughter (Courtney Sidell).

A brief memorial service will be at the Benkelman Cemetery on June 6, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. with a memories reception at the Culbertson Fairgrounds immediately following the service.

In lieu of plants or flowers, donations may be made in Liz's name to any charity of the donor's choice.
