Sandra L. Harlan

McCOOK, Neb. -- Sandra L. Harlan of McCook, age 77, passed away at El Dorado Nursing Home in Trenton on Feb. 3, 2015.

She was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Milton and Marjory (Hankins) Furr. Her family moved to the Sacramento, California, area when she was a child. She graduated from Grant Union High School in Sacramento, then attended San Juan Community College for two years, studying business.

Sandra was married to Fred Grimes and to this union two sons were born: Charles and Kenneth. On March 31, 1984, she was married to David Harlan in Reno, Nevada. Sandra was employed as a maid for the Forbes family and continued to live in California until retirement in 1995, when she and David moved to Colorado. The couple bought a home in McCook in 2002.

Sandra was baptized and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints in McCook. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, and was an avid reader.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and son, Kenneth.

Survivors include her husband, David of McCook; son, Charles and wife, Kelly of Parker, Colorado; three grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Drumm of Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Memorial services are Saturday, March 28, 2015, 11 a.m. with Jason Blomstedt officiating, at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Friends may leave on-line condolences at herrmannfh.com.
