Lillian Harriet (Fichtner) Orman

July 28, 1914 - March 15, 2015

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- Lillian Harriet (Fichtner) Orman, 100 years old, went to heaven on March 15, 2015.

She was the daughter of August and Lillian (Coons) Fichtner and was born on July 28, 1914, in Hayes County, Nebraska. She married Floyd Orman on July 27, 1937. She taught school for several years in Hayes County and served in community activities including Extension Clubs and 4H leadership.

Lillian is survived by her children Dale (Sandra), and their children Philip (Kate), Andrew, and Tim (Nancy); Paul (Delores) and their children, Angela (Peter) Hansen and Margaret (Brent) Sankey; and Rachel (Bill) Timmons and their children Amy (Paul) Stumpf, Sarah (John) Pate, Elizabeth (Travis) Lauda, and Cynthia (Raymond) Harris, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lillian was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sophia, Allison and Adam Orman; Gareth, Clara and Luke Hansen; Derly, Laura and Jonathan Pate; Matthew and Lindsey Stumpf; Erik and Kay Lauda; and Cameron and Caitlyn Harris.

Lillian was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and shared many baptisms, birthday parties, weddings, and family celebrations. Lillian loved her Lord and was a member of the Lutheran Church in White, Curtis, and North Platte, Nebraska, and was always active in Bible study, LWML, and other Christian ministries.

In eternity, Lillian joins Floyd Orman, her husband of 67 years; a grandson, Matthew Floyd Orman; parents August and Lillian Fichtner; brothers Leon, Wesley, Melvin, Chester; and sisters Effa, Doris, and Helen, and many other family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Riverside, CA, as well as in Hayes County. The Hayes County service date will be at a later date.
