CAMBRIDGE, Neb. -- Wesley Dale Farr passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 23, 2015.
He was born near Eustis, Nebraska, on June 8, 1933, to Alfred and Laura (Hilker) Farr. Wes graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1951.
Wes served his country in the U.S. Army from May 13, 1953 to April 1955. On April 9, 1953, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Schroeder in Oxford, Nebraska, at St. John's Lutheran Church.
Wes farmed north of Cambridge. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, holding many offices throughout the years. He was a member of the American Legion Post of Cambridge, serving on many Honors details.
Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Laura (Hilker) Farr; granddaughter, Kayla Marie Hubert; and brother-in-law, John A. Beutler.
Wes is survived by his wife, Charlotte, of Cambridge; three daughters, Kristi and husband, Kim Shifflet of Cambridge, Debra and husband, Mike Shields of McCook and Janet and husband, Fritz Hubert of McCook; two sons, Bradley and wife, Laurie Farr of Cambridge and Scott and wife, Cheryl Farr of Norton, Kansas; 13 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Beutler of Cambridge and Carol and husband, Doyle Dawson of Arapahoe; and brother, Wayne and wife, Kay Farr of Arapahoe.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 27, 2015, at 3 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cambridge with Pastor Brett Hinrichs. Interment will be at the Fairview Cemetery of Cambridge.
Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 6 p.m. and Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Lockenour-Jones Mortuary in Cambridge. Friends may leave on-line condolences at lockenour.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to either St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
