MINDEN, Neb. -- Mary K. Allen, 95 years of age, formerly of Benkelman, Nebraska, died on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at the Kearney County Health Services-Hospital in Minden.

Lunch will be at the Benkelman Methodist Church on March 14, 2015, at 12 p.m. with inurnment at 1 p.m. in the Benkelman Cemetery. Layton-Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born in Idalia, Colorado, on Feb. 17, 1920, to August Albert and Kittie Ann Nothdurft. She graduated high school at St. Francis, Kansas. In 1954, she married Walter Allen and they lived and farmed north of Parks, Nebraska. Walter died in 1980.

In 2002, she moved to Denver to live with her son and daughter in-law, Gary and Doti and in 2009, they moved to Kearney. Mary moved to Bethany Home in Minden in 2014.

Survivors include her son, Gary Allen and wife Doti of Kearney; three grandchildren and great-grandson, Crystal Allen and son, Connor; Logan Allen and wife, Kara and Amber Allen. She is preceded in death by her husband and five brothers.
