Annie Marie Miller

Oct. 23, 1971 - Jan. 15, 2015

SALEM, Ore. -- A special ray of sunshine was lost when Annie Marie closed her eyes for the last time on Jan. 15, 2015.

Annie, 43, was born Oct. 23, 1971, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Robert Miller, formerly of Indianola, Nebraska, and his wife, Monica (Schaaf) Miller, formerly of McCook, Nebraska. Annie was one of three children. She attended the Oregon School for the Blind and Fairview Training Center.

Annie was an active volunteer with the Oregon Library for the Blind, Marion County Food Share and won awards in Special Olympics. No matter what her body threw at her, she took it with a positive attitude, enthusiasm, grace and a smile. Annie loved to garden, going to the beach, music, stories and socializing with her family or friends over a cup of coffee or Pepsi.

Annie leaves behind her mother, Monica, and father, Robert; brother, Monty, and sister, Beth; two nephews, Henry and Jasper and her beloved cat, Sweet-Ums.

A visitation for Annie will be Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 1:30 p.m. at Howell Edwards Doerksen Funeral Home in Salem. Burial will follow at Belcrest Memorial Park at 3 p.m.

In the words of Annie, "Buck-up and move on!"
